Athletes In Schools believe that all children are talented and should be given the opportunity to enjoy sport! This is why we have created fun & enjoyable PE lessons, in an environment that a child can truly be inspired by our team of Olympic, Paralympic, & Team GB athletes. Together we can inspire a generation of champions.
Our visits are flexible, adaptable and we’re always open to mixing things up!
A typical visit will start with a presentation & assembly to introduce the students to the athlete, charting their story, the challenges they have faced and the mountains they’ve climbed to overcome them.
We will then split the children into groups of 20-35 for a series of holistic PE lessons with the athlete. These will be focused around the athletes sport of excellence and sessions will be adapted to the ages & abilities of the students themselves, thereby allowing the students to have fun and gained confidence throughout the day.
At the end of the day, we think it’s a nice idea to bring the kids back together for a short 10-15 minute session with the athlete to allow for any final key messages and photo opportunities.
During a visit the Olympic, paralympic, or team GB athlete will deliver presentations and PE lessons that can cover a range of different topics.
Presentation topics include:
The History of the Olympic Games
The Science of Sprinting presentation
The Sports Drink Challenge
Healthy Eating, Diet & Nutrition
Positivity & Happiness
Disability Awareness
How to Live a Healthy Lifestyle
Benefits of Exercise
Drug Awareness
Anti Bullying
Anti Racism
Olympic / Paralympic Sports Coaching

Olympic style warm ups
Speed, agility and reaction drills
Blocks and sprint starts

We also provide virtual coaching for sport specific activities such as Tennis, Badminton, Football, Rugby, Cricket, Swimming, Cycling, Weightlifting, American Football, Basketball & Triathlon.
Our packages are incredibly flexible!
We thoroughly enjoy change and whilst our standard experiences include an inspirational presentation & PE sessions with the athlete, we have the capacity to include a variety of alternative sessions.
This can include interactive workshops with the students, focused on diet & nutrition, goal-setting or even sitting down with your GSCE or A-level students to discuss their course and progress.
We are also happy for the students to organise ‘podcasts’ with the athlete, that can be placed on the school website or newsletters and encourage community development focused on health & wellbeing.
Organising a visit it easy. It only takes a few simple steps, and Athletes In Schools will do the rest! Step 1 Talk to our team. Let us know how you envision the experience and we will recommend a scheme that fits your needs. Step 2 Select the Olympic, Paralympic, or Team GB athlete. Step 3 Lets organise the timetable for the event. And make sure it suits the schools and parents. Step 4 Announce the event within your community. Step 5 Let Athletes In School deliver the event to the highest standards, and inspire your students.
We are very flexible. Tell us what you are looking for and we will create a package around your requirements.
If required, we can look to change the dates of your event. However, this is often difficult during the Summer months, so do try to plan as best as possible.
If you need us to change a date, particularly at late notice, do be aware that this may result in a change in athlete if the original athlete is not available on the new date.
Our most popular packages are the Bronze, Silver & Gold experiences.
Gold Scheme:
Organise a visit from 2 x Olympic, Paralympic, or Team GB athletes to your school. The athlete will stay for a full school day, and deliver inspirational assembly style presentations aimed top wow the students. The athletes will also deliver up to 16 fun & enjoyable PE lessons with different groups of children throughout the day.
2 x GB Athletes
Full Day Experience
Inspirational Presentation
14-16 PE Lessons
Silver Scheme:
Another fantastic option, often loved by our athletes. Your school will be joined by 2 x Olympic, Paralympic, or Team GB athletes for a half-day (3.5 hours) and again, provide a motivational presentation before moving on to 6 – 8 Sports sessions.
2 x GB Athletes
Half Day Experience
Inspirational Presentation
6-8 PE Lessons
Bronze Scheme:
Our most popular & flexible experience. Select a full or half day visit with one of our athletes who will provide a mixture of presentations & sports sessions. Within the experience, we can adapt the sessions to include classroom based workshops and goal-setting interviews.
Half OR Full Day Experience
1 x GB Athlete
Inspirational Presentation
6-8 PE Lessons
A virtual Olympian school visit is the new way to inspire kids, engage parents, and motivate staff.
This involves an Olympic, Paralympic, or Team GB athlete, undertaking an online session with school, either as a large assembly or transmitted to individual classrooms, with the aim to inspire & educate the next generation.
These can also be used for teacher training, or take place after school to allow parents to join the call!
During a virtual visit the Olympic, Paralympic, or Team GB athlete will deliver a presentation and/or PE lessons that can cover a range of different topics. Virtual presentation topics include:
A career history, including videos & explanations of their story
Healthy Eating, Diet & Nutrition
Training regimes & dedication
Positivity & Happiness
Disability Awareness
How to Live a Healthy Lifestyle
Benefits of Exercise
Anti Bullying
Anti Racism
We can often organise an event for you at short notice, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team and see what we can do!
To ensure the best availability, try to reserve your date as early as possible. We have been fully booked across the Summers of 2023 and 2024!
We will provide you with an info pack when you make your booking, explaining the timeline of the planning process.
Due to frequent changes in the competition and training camps calendars, we will aim to provide you with an athlete shortlist 6 – 8 weeks prior to your event, from which you can select the athlete that you’d like to visit.
We will research your school and identify your key values, and shortlist the athletes we feel would be the best fit for you!
We would ask the school to finalise their timetable for the day, one week prior to the event, so that the athlete can plan their activities for the day. You will be provided with a draft template
